Description
This sand rail is a rear-engined buggy that was assembled under previous ownership and is powered by a 2,110cc flat-four equipped with dual EMPI carburetors, an EMPI oil-breather kit, Scat valve covers, and a Tri-Mil exhaust system. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transaxle. The buggy features an exposed tube frame finished in orange, and the open cockpit houses a pair of fixed-back vinyl-padded bucket seats equipped with RaceQuip multi-point safety harnesses. It rides on Fox shocks and white 15″ EMPI-style steel wheels, and other details include a rear-mounted spare wheel and tire, four-wheel disc brakes, diamond-plate floor panels, headlights and taillights, and turn indicators in addition to overhead trail lighting, dual side mirrors, a Bugpack shifter, a cell-phone holder, and VDO auxiliary gauges. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2025, this sand rail is now offered with a clean Texas title listing the buggy as a 1975 two-door Volkswagen.

The tubular chassis is finished in orange and features a full roll cage over the cockpit as well as an engine cradle. A diamond-plate floor panel is installed along with dual side mirrors, headlights and taillights, turn indicators, overhead trailer lights, and a brush guard with a skid plate.

EMPI-style 15″ steel wheels are finished in white and fitted with Mickey Thompson Mini Mag tires up front and Super Swamper TSL Bogger tires out back. A spare front wheel and tire are mounted to the rear rack. The buggy is outfitted with front and rear remote-reservoir Fox shocks, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.

The open cockpit houses a pair of fixed-back bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with gray inserts, and RaceQuip multi-point harnesses are fitted for both occupants. Additional equipment includes a Bugpack shifter, auxiliary lighting switches, a roller accelerator, and hydraulic brake and clutch pedals. A diamond-plate storage box is mounted behind the seats along with the battery and the fuel tank.

The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to the front-cabin bar, and a cell-phone mount is located to the right of the steering column. VDO readouts for oil pressure and temperature are mounted ahead of the shifter. The buggy is not equipped with an odometer, and total mileage is unknown.

The seller reports that the flat-four displaces 2,110cc, and the engine is equipped with dual EMPI carburetors, an EMPI oil-breather kit, Scat stainless-steel valve covers, an Autotrax fan kit, and a Tri-Mil exhaust system. An oil change was performed in January 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
