Description

This 1985 Honda ATC 250ES Big Red was sold new by Laube’s Cycle City located in Findlay, Ohio, to its first owner, who reportedly intended to use it to pull a drag race car. The first owner is said to have never used the ATC and sold it to its second owner, who owns a museum, circa 2010. The selling dealer acquired it in 2026. The ATC is a three-wheeler equipped with a 246cc four-stroke single linked with an automatic clutch and five-speed transmission with reverse. Finished in red over a black frame, the ATC features an electric starter, a black vinyl solo seat, a leading-axle fork, an enclosed driveshaft, a rear cargo box, a hitch mount, 9″ steel wheels, trail lighting, and front and rear cargo racks. This ATC 250ES Big Red is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve in Massachusetts for off-road use only with a Certificate of Origin, an owner’s manual, plastic lift blocks, a period brochure, original purchase documents, and a bill of sale.

The three-wheeler bodywork is finished in red with black, white, and silver graphics. Features include a black vinyl solo seat, a 3.7-gallon fuel tank, a rear cargo box, front and rear cargo racks, a headlight guard, a hitch mount, trail lighting, mud flaps, and serrated folding foot pegs. The headlight is removable for use as a spotlight or work light. The selling dealer notes portions of the plastic bodywork were polished and there is an imperfection on the left side rear mudflap.

Silver-finished 9″ multi-piece wheels are mounted with Ohtsu Pro/Am tires and the date codes are shown in the gallery. Braking is provided by a drum on the front wheel and another on the rear axle. Suspension consists of a leading-axle telescopic fork with black gaiters as well as an adjustable rear monoshock.

The chrome handlebar carries black switchgear for the lights and ignition as well as bright levers and a thumb-operated throttle. The handlebar shroud houses a keyed ignition switch and a choke pull knob. The ATC is not equipped with an odometer or other instrumentation, therefore total mileage is unknown.

The air-cooled 246cc four-stroke single features electronic ignition, an electric starter, and a matte-black finished exhaust system that exits below the rear bodywork. Factory-rated output was 19 horsepower. The selling dealer states the ATV was started a handful of times under prior ownership but has not been started or ridden under current ownership.

The ATC is equipped with an automatic clutch, a five-speed transmission with a super-low first gear, a reverse gear, as well as an enclosed driveshaft.
